Mayor of Bristol George Ferguson speaks to pioneers of sustainable building The Green Register (http://www.greenregister.org.uk) "Sustainable construction should just come naturally now. I say it 'should'- whether it does is another matter and I think we've got to make sure that with all our planning permissions, with all permits to build, that there is a condition that we do so in as sustainable form as possible. I think there are a huge variety of construction professionals in terms of their ability - and even their desire - to drive the whole sustainability agenda forwards. I think now it is becoming more mainstream but there are those that are much better tooled up to advise than others and I think that the more availability to good advice the better and that some of those should be specialised. But in time, it should come naturally to every single construction professional to be a good advisor on sustainability matters. It's got to be much more than ticking boxes or having what one might call a bit of 'eco bling' on your building. It's got to be fundamentally good, and that is about reducing energy needs for instance rather than finding new ways of generating it. I think that in order to get there, one needs the sort of advisors who absolutely understand the priorities and aren't just looking for the clever headline solutions and it is people like The Green Register that are able to do that. I think where The Green Register is so good is that it is not-for-profit, it's driven by a real belief in what is right, it's got the experience of having worked for well over a decade on these issues, well before it became the natural thing to do and I think that with all that experience behind them they're able to offer a range of advice to all forms of professionals - and to building and site owners - as to what is the best thing to do. The great thing about being the Mayor of Bristol is that I love this city but I really want to make quite sure it's one of the greenest cities in Europe. I want to make sure that we're not fiddling at the edges but we're dealing with the fundamentals and I think that in order to do that we need a greater understanding by ALL those that are involved in the delivery of projects. I think that Bristol can be a test bed for new ideas, we are a laboratory for change. I'll take the blame if it goes wrong and everyone else can take the benefit if it goes right!" The Green Register is a not-for-profit membership organisation offering expert and unbiased training on sustainable building practices to all disciplines of the construction industry. The Green Register's aims are achieved through our three core activities: Training - raising awareness of the issues surrounding sustainable building practices by running training and events across the UK. These events range from half day practical workshops through to the full two-day Sustainable Building & Services training course. The Green Register also runs in-house CPD sessions for construction professionals on a wide range of topics. The Register -- all our members have attended at least two days of Green Register training and, once registered, are placed on the web-based register of members. This list is available to potential clients who are looking for professionals with a demonstrated commitment to sustainable building practices. Networking -- it is important to exchange ideas, provide mutual support and make professional connections with other disciplines -- our events provide an ideal opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals and network, share ideas and information. What is Sustainable or Green Building? Building to green or sustainable principles is an holistic approach that addresses social, environmental and economic issues. It is not a style or fashion but an enduring set of principles that looks at all aspects of construction from site preparation through to reuse, recycling and reclamation. Sustainable building considers how the construction will affect the wellbeing of people and natural ecosystems. http://www.greenregister.org.uk

The EP launches from a heightened place with the first track ‘Dadami’, which sets the scene with a colorful array of marimba tunes, propelled forward by a whimsical yet probing motif throughout. The song is reminiscent both of the organic elements of a tropical rainforest and a futuristic feeling of traveling through outer space. The second track off the EP, ‘Push’ does just that; it furthers the drive and curiosity of the first track into an otherworldly yet reachable realm. The song incorporates all of the instrumental elements of the first track and brings it forward with a lower register of synths and the addition of more innovative elements like the faint echo of a human voice and the ringing of a metallic bell. The third and final track off this enchanting EP comes in the form of ‘Monte’, which strikes a slightly different tone. Here the plot thickens; the ethereal buoyancy of the first two tracks is transferred into a more determined path through the created universe of Lumo.. The exploration and curiosity of the first two tracks persists as the song progresses and leaves with an extended feeling of intrigue. TRACKLIST 01. Lumo. - Dadami (Original Mix) 02. The world stood still when news emerged that Nelson Mandela was critically ill. ... euronews, the most watched news channel in Europe Subscribe for your daily dose of international news, curated and explained:http://eurone.ws/10ZCK4a Euronews is available in 13 other languages: http://eurone.ws/17moBCU http://www.euronews.com/2013/07/19/inequality-blights-mandela-s-south-african-legacy The world stood still when news emerged that Nelson Mandela was critically ill. His long battle against apartheid is one of the biggest chapter's in the history of the 20th century. After his release from prison, he won South Africa's first all-race elections to become the country's first black president; liberating and unifying most of its people. However the emancipation of 80 percent of the population has not led to greater equality. Only a small minority have access to the reins of economic power. Mandisa Nkamba Kadalie is proud to own a restaurant in the heart of one of Johannesburg's upmarket areas. She is one of the "black diamonds" as they are known locally. Exiled during the apartheid years, she returned after Mandela's liberation to forge a career in finance. Ten years later she made her dream a reality after receiving a loan from an agency set-up to help start-ups in the black community. "Some people have said to me 'Don't say that you own the business, because once people hear that it is owned by a black person, they might have attitude'. I said no, I said no! I fought for this so much! There is no way I'm going to say I do not own it. People that are still scared to say 'I will take advantage of an opportunity' should just let go, and take advantage of the opportunities that are there, and see if it works, as long as they are prepared to work hard!" said Mandisa. Soweto lies a few kilometres from Johannesburg. The township, which symbolised much of the bloody fight against apartheid, is now an example of how life for some has completely changed. New housing projects and smart shopping centres reflect the emergence of a new middle class. Soweto is a land of opportunities according to Nqobile Nkosi who began his business eight years ago, after receiving training and a micro-credit from the government. He is the only black entrepreneur who has succeeded in setting up a high quality jewellers workshop in a township. Nkosi started from almost nothing, having sold cakes and ice-cream on the streets to buy his first tools. "We have started a new culture, a culture of independence, a culture of working hard. It was not a norm for people of colour to manufacture jewellery. And surprisingly when I started training young guys, it's then that I also realised that South Africa is booming with talent! It's just waiting to be realised." Nkosi said. Today, he has four people working for him. Outside South Africa's market he also exports his creations to Europe. His aim now is to find funding to open a factory and employ up to 100 staff in order to meet a growing demand. "The old timers just down the road said to me: "Nqobile, we like what you're doing, because this is what we fought for! This is what we wanted to see young people doing, now. Being self sufficient you know. Not looking up to their master like 20 years ago, you know!" he added. Freedom gained under Mandela has not meant prosperity for all. Alexandra is a township which highlights many of the problems facing the black community. Lacking infrastructure, failing public services, endemic unemployment and a chronic shortage of housing - Alexandra's needs reflect the reality of a country where poverty affects 60 percent of black families. Tumi Masite is among those trying to make up for the failings of the state. Private funds have allowed him to equip his gym but he says much more investment is needed. He wants to help young people escape from the devastating grip of alcohol and drugs that has made delinquency widespread in Alexandra: "We need funders. We need more centres for the children. We need libraries for the people to actually get education," he said. "Lots of people actually lack education here in the community. We struggle in the gym you know, to also to try to tell people about health.Something that is little can actually change the lives of people in the community" added Tumi. The end of apartheid allowed Frans to open his small business some 20 years ago. Freedom is his most precious asset. For the rest, things have not changed much, he says. "The freedom is there, the rights are there.. But in the economy, the power is still in the white hands. Economically, white people are ruling. TYT contributor David Sirota tells you how Trump is waiving punishments for banks that he owes money to. Read more here: http://www.ibtimes.com/political-capital/trump-administration-waives-punishment-convicted-banks-including-deutsche-which "The Trump administration has waived part of the punishment for five megabanks whose affiliates were convicted and fined for manipulating global interest rates. One of the Trump administration waivers was granted to Deutsche Bank — which is owed at least $130 million by President Donald Trump and his business empire, and has also been fined for its role in a Russian money laundering scheme. The waivers were issued in a little-noticed announcement published in the Federal Register during the Christmas holiday week. They come less than two years after then-candidate Trump promised “I'm not going to let Wall Street get away with murder.” Under laws designed to protect retirement savings, financial firms whose affiliates have been convicted of violating securities statutes are effectively barred from the lucrative business of managing those savings. However, that punishment can be avoided if the firms manage to secure a special exemption from the U.S. Department of Labor, allowing them to keep their status as “qualified professional asset managers.” In late 2016, the Obama administration extended temporary one-year waivers to five banks — Citigroup, JPMorgan, Barclays, UBS and Deutsche Bank. Late last month, the Trump administration issued new, longer waivers for those same banks, granting Citigroup, JPMorgan, and Barclays five-year exemptions. UBS and Deutsche Bank received three-year exemptions." Go to https://www.TYTNetwork.com/Investigates for original reporting from The Young Turks. All charges withdrawn this morning. The problem was that they had started a new file & not transfered the supporting documents for Geordie's arguments into the new file.(below) What else would you expect from a bunch of unbelieving Pagan Devil's Advocates who practise OLD-COVENANT rituals. Geordie's wife re-filed all documents (3 copies each) & had them stamped in the court Monday morning so they would be in front of the judge this morning, filed were: 1. Copy of section 46.1 vital statistics act 2. Notarized & authenticated STATEMENT OF BIRTH (THE TRUST) 3. Notarized & authenticated BIRTH CERTIFICATE (THE BOND) 4. Letter from Judith Hartman deputy registrar General -ORG (The ORG does NOT REGISTER PEOPLE) 5. definition of a "person" from the "Police officer's manual" & * Canadian Dictionary of Law"(The only legal Person known to law is THE CORPORATION) The court was opened in a non-admiralty jurisdiction "God Save the Queen" was announced & the judge entered the court with NO ROBE. The Crown actually said that they cannot proceed without jurisdiction and the have had no success in getting George Hugh to consent to being BOTHWELL,GEORGE as he did not answer to the name nor would he cross the "imaginary line" The Crown also said this: "This is a well crafted Ideological Subversion of the Justice system" All charges withdrawn Geordie proved to everyone today that IDENTITY IN CHRIST is your Key to Victory. My hats off and respect to a very brave man who stood his ground on principle & would not let or consent to the courts identifing him as a DEAD FICTICIOUS ENTITY. This is a HUGE VICTORY and PRECEDENT SETTING CASE. I am sure they will not mess with George Hugh after this. Best Regards Robert Smykal The 63-year-old organic farmer from the former Sydenham Township has been in jail since Nov. 1, when he was arrested for failing to appear in the Superior Court of Justice. Bothwell was in court that day to set a date for a jury trial on charges concerning a run-in he had with police on the eastern fringe of Owen Sound in May 2009, but he wouldn't respond when his name was called and he wouldn't walk past the bar -- which separates the public from the jurisdiction of the court -- when the clerk summoned him at the direction of Justice Robert Thompson. Accordingly, Bothwell had been in custody for seven days until brought back into court Monday morning to face Thompson again. Bothwell remains in custody and is to appear in court again next Tuesday. Three or four uniformed police controlled access to the courtroom before the case was called. Access was permitted only after all electronic devices were surrendered or otherwise kept outside the courtroom. Bothwell faces two charges of obstructing police and one count of assault while resisting arrest from an incident after a traffic stop May 14, 2009, in Owen Sound. He has referred to himself as Geordie of the Family Bothwell, Geordie and more recently as George Hugh. His arguments, set out in documents handed out by supporters Monday, seem to be that the statement of birth and birth certificate are government-issued identity documents that Bothwell doesn't have to recognize. "If I did appear as BOTHWELL, then I believe that would be committing the act of impersonation which I am sure you are well aware is a criminal offence," says one document titled "The Evidence."

Toodyay, Western Australia From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Population: 674 (2001 census) Established: 1860 Postcode: 6566 Location: 25 km (16 mi) NW of Northam 85 km (53 mi) NE of Perth LGA: Shire of Toodyay State District: Moore Federal Division: Pearce Coordinates: 31°33′04″S 116°27′50″E / 31.551°S 116.464°E / -31.551; 116.464 Toodyay is a town located in the Avon Valley, 85 km north-east of Perth, Western Australia. History The Old Gaol Old Court House in Fiennes Street, now used as Shire of Toodyay offices (2004) Memorial to James Drummond, botanist, in Pelham Reserve, overlooking the Toodyay townsiteThe original village of Toodyay was one of the earliest inland towns in the State, established along the Avon River in 1836 after settlers including James Drummond, Captain Francis Whitfield and Alexander Anderson explored the area; Drummond established his homestead Hawthornden nearby. However, the location was subject to flooding which lead to its abandonment in the 1850s, and a new townsite was established on higher ground 2 km upstream. This was gazetted in 1860 as 'Newcastle' and the original settlement came to be referred to as 'Old Toodyay'. In May 1910 due to confusion with the New South Wales city of Newcastle, Newcastle became known as 'Toodyay', and the original townsite, which had by this time declined substantially, became 'West Toodyay'.[1] The meaning of the name is uncertain, although it is Noongar Indigenous in origin - maps in 1836 referred to "Duidgee", while some believe it was named for a local woman named Toodyeep who accompanied early explorers in the area.[2] Another source suggests it could mean "place of plenty". The name "Duidgee" is preserved in the riverside recreation area, "Duidgee Park". In 1861, Western Australia's best known bushranger, Moondyne Joe, was imprisoned in Toodyay for stealing a horse, but escaped. After a series of crimes and jail terms, he was on the run again, returning to Toodyay in 1865 to steal supplies for an attempt to escape overland to South Australia. The annual Moondyne Festival is a light-hearted celebration of this darker side of Toodyay's history. The Newcastle Gaol, in Clinton Street, was completed in 1864 and in use as a state gaol until 1909. It is now preserved as the Old Gaol Museum; an historic building and tourist attraction. In 1870, a steam-driven flour mill, Connor's Mill, was built on Stirling Terrace by George Hasell. The mill was also used to generate electricity in the early part of the twentieth century. Saved from demolition in the 1970's, and restored to demonstrate the milling process and machinery, the mill now forms the museum section of the Toodyay Visitors Centre.[3] The State Register of Heritage Buildings includes the Gaol, Connor's Mill, Toodyay Public Library (built 1874), Toodyay Post Office (designed by George Temple-Poole, built 1897) and the Toodyay Fire Station (designed by Ken Duncan, built 1938), as well as several other historic sites in Toodyay.[3] Some of the historic architecture of shops and residences along Stirling Terrace, the main street, form a distinctive frontage described as the Stirling Terrace Streetscape Group.[4] [edit] Transport Toodyay, being an historic township and an hour's distance from Perth, is a venue for daytrippers, tourists and motorcyclists. The circuit - Toodyay Road through Gidgegannup / Toodyay / Chittering Valley and Great Northern Highway - is a favourite with motorcyclists. On most weekends, Toodyay's main street is lined with cruisers and sportsbikes of many models, makes and vintages, their riders relaxing in the increasing number of pavement cafes that are springing up to accommodate the burgeoning tourist trade. Toodyay also serves as a stop on the Avonlink and Prospector passenger trains from Perth to Northam and Kalgoorlie. DON PUGH CARAVAN TRIP 2008

http://PolarBearDip.ca  2016 "Pre-Dip" with +jennifer valentyne  What You Should Know about the #PolarBearDip   There are risks associated with going into Lake Ontario on January 1. The temperature of the water and the surrounding environment may be extremely cold and Lake Ontario is polluted. You should consult your physician prior to engaging in this event. Individuals who are pregnant, or have poor cardiac functioning, or suffer from a seizure disorder should not participate. How To Participate 1. Register and create your online fundraising page If you choose not to pay the $25 registration fee online during your fundraising page setup, you will need to bring $30 cash or a cheque (made out to World Vision Canada) to the park on January 1st. If you would prefer to register and fundraise offline, please complete your registration form before heading to the park. Forms are available at the registration desk on January 1st but the process is much quicker if you fill it out in advance. 2. Ask friends and family to support your dip with donations (minimum $20 donation to receive a tax receipt). Every $100 in collected donations will get you 1 ballot for our prize draws, plus the individual who raises the most money will win a grand prize. The more you raise, the more chances you have to win prizes courtesy of Shoppers Drug Mart at Third Line & Dundas in Oakville. 3. Grab a friend to be your spotter and arrive at Coronation Park in Oakville by 1pm to ensure you have time to find parking and check in at the registration desk. There is limited parking at Coronation Park so please consider taking the free Stock Transportation shuttle bus leaving from South Oakville Centre (formerly Hopedale Mall) 1515 Rebecca St. in Oakville. Please park near The Beer Store 4. Visit the registration table to check in and if you haven't already done so, pay your $30 registration fee (cash or cheque made out to World Vision Canada | Credit card and debit not available). You will submit your waiver form along with any funds raised and you will receive your dipper wristband and Swag Bag. If you would like to skip the registration lineup on January 1st you can pre-regsiter by visiting our office at 2380 Speers Road in Oakville (Dates TBD) Last years swag bag included an Official Polar Bear Dip t-shirt, orange spotter wristband and dippers certificate. Dippers also received items from our supporters. 5. If you are taking part in the costume contest, make your way to the stage by 1:00pm to register yourself or your team. Or email info@polarbeardip.ca ahead of time with your name and costume entry and category (adult, youth or team) 6. Don't rush to line-up by the beach. Take time to enjoy the live music and costume contest before making your way to the beach. While the first wave will take the pluge at 2pm sharp, we have over 700 participants so there will be multiple waves of dippers. Bring an old blanket or towel to put down on the beach so you can sit and change before the dip. Do not strip down to your swim suit until it's time for the dip. Make sure to wear an old pair of shoes or "aqua socks" into the water to prevent cuts from the rocks and to stop your feet from sticking to any snow or ice on the shore. If you wear glasses, make sure to secure them with an athletic strap. Do not stay in the water longer than three crawl strokes. Body heat is lost 25 times faster in water than in air. Make sure you know where your spotter is before you enter the water. This friend will be waiting for you on the shore with a towel, fresh clothing and dry shoes. After the dip, head over to the mens or womens heated change tents and get changed in comfort. Get a feel for the dip by checking out our You Tube Channel 7. Join us at Tin Cup Sports Grill in Oakville for the official post-dip party! Food specials and raffle draws await! Plus 10% of all food purchases on January 1st will go back to the Courage Polar Bear Dip   Not ready to take the plunge? Come to Coronation Park and enjoy the festivities!

Show your support by visiting http://makeasacrifice.jdrftype1.com People with T1D would never benefit from JDRF-funded innovations without our donors. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters like you, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. If you live with T1D, you spend a lot of time thinking about your blood-sugar levels now and worrying about the complications that T1D may one day bring. You don’t want anyone else you love to ever know the physical, emotional and financial toll this disease takes. You want a cure. You can help by sharing this page in social networks, spreading the word about T1D kids to as many people as possible. You can also become a JDRF volunteer and help them to keep going. Choose the best way for you to help and act! JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. The Health Care and Social Assistance sector comprises establishments providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with those establishments providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance, and finally finishing with those providing only social assistance. The services provided by establishments in this sector are delivered by trained professionals. JDRF works every day to change the reality of this disease for millions of people—and to prevent anyone else from ever knowing it—by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new therapies, ensuring new therapies come to market and connecting and engaging the T1D community. http://www.purepathcapitalgroup.com/Leadership.html JDRF Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter www.alfredgerriets.com Alfred Gerriets Leave us a comment on https://www.pinterest.com/jdrfadvocacy/ It seems important to mention the main issues - The Mosquito State, Jersey Shore, Pennsauken, diabetes treatment, Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari, The New Jersey Pallisades, T1D kids, become a volunteer, ultralente insulin, type 1 diabetes, N.J., blood, support our research, Battleship New Jersey, Join, T1D, Liberty State Park, Jersey Shore, Atlantic City, The Jersey Blue State, Lucy the Elephant, Pennsauken, NJ, Absecon Light, US-NJ, New Jersey, Liberty Science Center, donate today, Health Care Providers, New Jersey State House, Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach Water Park, N.J., Cape May, slogans, charity, Bag of Hope, JDRF, The Pathway of Revolution, Barnegat Lighthouse, Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari, The Switzerland of America, The Foreigner State, Ocean City, kids, New Spain, Translating Research Into Action for Diabetes Study, Adventure Aquarium, The Garden State, The Camden & Amboy State, JDRF one walk, fasting plasma glucose value, Research Home, The Jersey Blue State, Atlantic City Boardwalk, learn more, Princeton University, NJ, glucose, Adventure Aquarium, The Clam State, contribute
